I have to upgrade my fuel pump for my swap and will likely change the fuel lines as well.

My present v-6 pump was new last summer, so I am considering a swap (tank for tank).  If someone has a bad pump it would be a good way to change it out.

They use the fuel passing through to cool themselves so if they try to run empty they tend to burn out.

One sign of doom is having it really groan for a bit.  Mine did that a few times before it finally decided to quit.

Wasn't a problem for me when I ran her dry once last year...  Then again I turned the ignition off immediately after she stalled.  If you left your ignition on and let the pump run like a wild horse for a while, you may have different results. Wink

Hey Ive got a Tank with A 350 F-body FI pump already installed on it, it took a little effort, but it was pretty much a direct fit! I dont need either the tank or the Pump... I would let ya have it for pretty cheap if you wanted...

Its not A F350 tank... Its a Regular Fiero Tank, with a F-body(camero, Firebird) Fuel pump installed in it. So the pump has greater flow capacity. Sorry for the confusion.

Don't get too excited Graeme, I believe that's a standard tank with a v-8 Firebirdie pump.

Rob, do you know what the gal/hour or even the pump part number is?  How much are you looking for?

I will go pull it outta the tank and get the number, Im not sure what I got was a 1987(I think) fuel pump for a F-body with Fuel Injection, it was recomended to me when I was going to do the 4.9 swap. Part Number is P74006 Its a Federal Mogul Pump. Its never been tested, So I cannot garantee it works. But the pump it brand new never been used.

Whats a fair price for a gas tank and pump? haha I have no clue, Im letting things go pretty dang cheap! Just sold my sway bar and some trim for like 25 bucks...  If someone wanted to come down they could take whatever they wanted as long as I can still have it towed out of my drive.

awwwwwwwright.... you  guys were 'having me on'.........
I was picturing one of the saddle tanks out of a pickup; which generally would (or could) be sort of the same size and shape and might even be plastic! (nice- a forever tank) that someone discovered by fluke.  But duhhhh
I get it now........... Grin
