If I understand your question correctly, I would assume you are looking for an alternative handbrake. If so, I believe a late 70's FRD Riviera had this as a singular floating caliper on the rears.
just a thought!

That right, like the extra braking power, but really don't like trusting the car staying put on the engine compression. I'll look into to, thanks

Mine holds on The compression pretty good.
My E-Brake works...but everytime you use it, to disable it, you have to go and pull the cables in the back, So I just don't use it.

This spot caliper, were does it mount? I've seen people wels a "disk" on one axle and a caliper. But the axle also moves up and down with the suspention.. so I doupt that will work.

There is another thought to this. There is a unit much like a line-lock but doesn't require voltage to enable/hold it. The unit goes by the name 'JAMAR BRAKE LOCK' and I used this until Ontario Transport decided differently! I just mounted the unit where the Fiero Handbrake was and routed the rear brake line up & back. The unit basically works like this.... Pull on the Jamar knob, depress brake pedal once, brake(line-lock) is set! Press on the Jamar, the 'line-lock' releases... I have since given the Jamar unit to a friend in PEI. The reason Ont Transport failed this is that "There is required to be a secondary braking device on a motor vehicle" and this unit was tapping into the 1st system!

Wilwood makes one; just for that purpose. My impression is that it satisfies the legal requirement; no idea of how effective it is beyond that.
We now know of a few 'local' suppliers of Wilwood so I have already emailed a request as I was asking about a few other things too.
will let you know what Ifind out
