Ok, well getting the new engine envy, so I want to start polishing the brackets, supercharger, valve covers, you name it.
What i want to do is take the  "pitting" away from the aliminium (did I spell that right? ) and make it silk smooth for a fresh coat of paint. I'd like to keep the sma eengine color theme as the 2.8L Fiero engine (red plenium / valve covers with the shinny ridges)

so is there a trick to polishing and "sanding" this type of metal? any tools? (I was thinking a rotary tool) and I heard somethign about polishing pastes???

any info will be really appreciated!

Cheers!
Eric

I you want a chrome like finish then you'll have to use sand paper (this will also get rid of the pitts)here a list of supplies:
400 grit
600 grit
800 grit
1000 grit
1500 grit
2000 grit
finish it of with a metal polish.
What I use when sanding is WD-40 it lubes and keeps the dust down.

Nah, that will never go through, and it is a production engine. they just don't know the Fiero never had it. Smiley  that's why the engine needs to look stock. Smiley
