Dash Repair

Does anyone know who does a good Dash repair around here?.  I got these corners on my dash that are starting to get pretty bad so I would like to get that fixed.

You can use either an epoxy or one of the 'kits' to repair urethane fascias.  If you use a piece of similar vinyl to press the texture into the surface it should come out pretty good. I saw some online instructions somewhere that were very good.  I'll see if I can locate them for you.  It is fairly easy to do and you just need to paint to match.

What colour is your dash, I may have one in better shape to work with.

I have the 86 2m4 grey interior so basicly its like charcoal grey for the dash.  So how long does it usually take to repair and dry?  1 day?

Canadian Tire has the repair kit.  It's called a boat and plastic bumper kit or something like that.  In the body and paint section for 15.00.

Much easier to take out the dash so you can flip it over and ease up on the gravity factor.  Mix the 2 part epoxy and it cures hard in a couple of hours.  When mixed it's kind of like toothpaste, so it needs to be supported to hold it's shape.  A small form of saran wrap over cardboard or foil wrap will do.  Sands easily when dried and a short squirt of 'wrinkle' paint will give it texture if desired.

Lots of 7mm bolts and torx screws to get the dash out but I think it's worth the effort.  It isn't really needed, though.  My son has taken his out so often, he's down to about 10 minutes.

if you are like me and have chunks of foam missing in the corners. MAke it tough as nails so it won't happen again! I use 5min epoxy and cotton balls. Soak the "balls" in epoxy to make a "dough" stuff and mold into place. Get the general shape of the dash, then get the Canadian tire kit to finish it off with texture. My old 84 had that done on it.  When i took the car to the dump.   The dash was then only thing that looked min!

I have some casting resin and will cast the corners of a good dash if anyone wants me to. This will give a mold that you can just fill with epoxy and press on to get the right shape.  Just pull of when dry and voila!

I need to try that out cause I dont think its going to be easy for the pass. side for my dash.  Its starting to "eat" the surroundings of the corner now so yeah I would like to try that.  How do I go about doing that?
