Hi All

I have a red 1985 Se V6 which I want to send to a good home.  The car has 4 Almost new tires 215-60r14 (less than 100km) I'm asking only $150.

I can be contacted at Raycgarner@rogers.com.

I don't want to send it to a junk yard. That's Just seems wrong.

Thanks

Hi
The car needs an ECU and a sending unit to run. It will have to get towed. I live in Ottawa (Vanier). I forgot to mention that the car also has a new muffler that was installed around the same time as the new tires (less than 100km). The windshield is cracked and it's missing the passenger seat.

Thanks

Is it a manual or auto?  I am asking because I have a good engine/trans package that is going to be avail soon and also an ECM depending on your type.
Maybe even a seat or two......   Someone could have a pretty good running car for well under $1000 maybe........??

Hi All

How much Would it cost to get it back on the road? I'm not sure. I'll give you it's history an perhaps one of you experts can figure it out.

I've owned the car since 1996. Drove it every summer up to 2000. I parked it for the year in 2001. In 2002 I put a new set of tires on it and put it back on the road in July. The car does have 187000KM.  Last summer the gas guage stopped working probably from sitting over the last year. Then it started to stall when it got hot. I was told that it may be a bad EGR valve or a blocked muffler. I had Both changed. The car ran for a day. Thats when I was told that it may be the ECU. The car was broken in and the CD player was stolen. As a result of this the passenger side door has a small hole in it the size of a screw driver. The driver's side door is missing the molding. The luggage rack is dented and the sunroof has scratches where they tried to get in with a coat hanger. The windshield was cracked (looks like someone stepped on it). Also the passenger's seat is missing.

The car has been sitting in my car port collecting dust ever since.  I need the extra spot and tried to sell it in the auto trader and local paper last October but I only got one call and the guy never came by to see the car.

I really don't want to send it to a junk yard because I think it has lots of potential. It would be a shame for what scrap metal the could find in it Smiley. I'm asking $150 because I'd like to recover the cost of some of the new parts I've put in it last year. The 4 tires alone are worth double. The Muffler was $300.

In the end, saving it will come down to how rusty  the car is under the skin.  Sad but true here in the Great White North.  Roll Eyes

So often, bad things that happen to our cars are both electrical and heat related.  I think the ECM is rarely a problem but you may have an ignition fault.  Someone should have a good module to try first.  It could also be a pickup coil.  Are there any stored fault codes? Anyone want to go for a look?

It may be something very simple.  Mine had horrible grounds everywhere that caused all sorts of wierd things.

Whatever...it is worth 150.00 easily and if someone wants it but has no space, I'll volunteer my yard for a while.  It will need to get out here though.

Good club parts car if we assume the worst and want to chip in and pick it up.

right now from just looking it over, the car will turn over fine, but it sounds as if the fuel pump is not turning on.  I am going to check the fuses next, hopefully just a fuse and the fuel pump is fine  Embarrassed

I will get pictures and keep you all posted
