ok ok so it is still light years (they haven't recognized the term "light-lifetimes" yet) away from completion or even running BUT I do have to decide what wheels I might go for; has to do with offsets etc etc.
So what does everyone think of these ones?  They are 255/50/16's on them; the rims are the item in question right now........
all and any responses welcome........

I think the size is decent but the corvette rims, I don't know. I guess it would all depend on cost, if you have them why not use them.  Just until something better comes along. Smiley

The size looks good on the car, Graeme, but like Mr. Tibs said the 'Vette rims don't quite suit it.  Smiley

OTOH some wheels are better than no wheels.   Grin

right at the moment I am thinking of having these for autocross and lapping days; they are 16x9 1/2" wide monsters (all round! Shocked ) so would give me a pretty good footprint on a twisty shorter track when I can afford to have the suspension set hard (not worried about scrubbing) and don't really care what they look like.  I have also bought a set of 5 spoked wheels that I am getting refinished; they are 16x8's so will take a more moderate tire; probably 225's up front and 255's in the rear and will allow for a bit more suspension movement over bumps and driveways etc.
But I was pretty surprised how the wheels suddenly made the car a 'vette' as you have said; (red; sorta same lines; similar tail lights etc etc)
we'll see once i get the other rims bead blasted.
 Huh
